Like
last year, this year (2008) and next (2008) BMW uses its permanent
all-wheel drive with a 38% front 62% rear torque split under
normal traction conditions.
The new 2008 BMW X5 premieres a new generation of Dynamic
Stability Control optimized for the X5.
BMW's
newest generation of antilock braking system it the Dynamic
Brake Control or DBC, which increases the braking pressure in
an emergency stops. Also, to add to safety the X5 has a special
Hill Descent Control System which will allow the driver to descend
steep hills or slippery slopes with the help of an automatic
speed control that works as a part of the Dynamic Stability
Control offering individual brake initiation on all four wheels.

Standard
2008 and the new 2008 BMW X5 include Xenon headlights and an
On-Board Navigation System, multi-functional steering wheel,
rear compartment air conditioning controls, premium audio system,
rear and roof rack systems and the Sport Package.
The
2008 BMW X5 4.6is, under the hood, 4.6-liter DOHC (4-cam)
32-valve engine with VANOS steplessly variable valve timing
5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with
Adaptive Transmission Control and STEPTRONIC gear selection,
including Sport mode.
The
2008 BMW X5 3.0i SUV offers under the hood a 3.0-liter
DOHC 24-valve inline 6-cylinder engine with Double VANOS steplessly
variable valve timing, 5-speed manual transmission or 5-speed
electronically controlled automatic transmission with Adaptive
Transmission Control and STEPTRONIC gear selection, including
Sport mode.
The
new 2008 BMW M Series will come with an optional Double
Spoke forged and polished alloy wheels, 19 x 8 front, 19 x 9.5
rear; 225/40ZR 19 front performance tires, 255/35ZR 19 rear
performance tires.
If
you opt for the convertible M3 there is an optional hardtop
available which is a body-colored hardtop with integrated rear
window defroster, retractable coat hooks, and individual reading
lights front and rear.
