The
new 2008 Cadillac Escalade offers power with it's high-compression,
345-horsepower V8 with 380 ft-lbs of torque engine. Escalade
also offers a full time allwheel drive, which rides like a 4wheel
drive, only it works all the time. Supplying traction for all
four corners, without pulling pressing a button or pulling a
lever. The 2008 and this years 2008 Escalade's AWD (all wheel
drive) has 3 open differentials and the transfer case has a
set torque split of 60% powertrain torque to the rear wheels,
40% to the front wheels. If the Cadillac Escalade senses that
one or more wheels are spinning the SUV will apply brakes to
those specific wheels until the driver has control of the vehicle.
The
new available onboard DVD based Navigation system uses a global
positioning satellite technology to pinpoint your SUV's location.
Clear graphics are displayed on the instrument panel which takes
the place of the regular sound system control panel. A premium
Bose® music system is standard on all 2008 Cadillac
Escalade SUV models. The screen features a light gray backing
in the day that will automatically switch to a dark gray backing
at night for optimum readability. 5 dedicated easy to reach
controls along the left side of the screen and four switches
to the right of the screen operate the audio system with easy
to view screen display controls.
The
10-way power adjusting front seats on the new Cadillac Escalade
feature power lumbar and side bolsters and head restraints. 3
heat settings on the seats , with individual controls for the
seat backs and bottom cushion. The seats only warm up when their
switch is turned on and occupant safety belts have been secured.
In
the rear of the 03 and 2008 Escalade the second row bucket seats
are an option and a small added expense. The third-row bench
seat splits flips forward and folds, or removes completely out.
With all seats up the Escalade seats 8 adults comfortably and
reconfiguring the seating for extra cargo space is quick and
finished in seconds.
