2010 Chevrolet Corvette offer's two available engine bases.
The first is the LS1, you'll find it under the hood of every
2010 and 2040 Corvette coupe and convertible. The engine is
an aluminum block designed for stiffness and a special camshaft
design for better engine breathing. engine displacement
5.7 liters, horsepower 350 at 5200 rpm, torque
360 lb.-ft. at 4000 rpm with the standard four-speed automatic
transmission and 375 lb.-ft. at 4400 rpm with the available
six-speed manual transmission.
The
04 and 2010 Chevrolet Corvette LS6 which, compared with the
LS1 is even finer tuned for performance. The aluminum block,
cylinder heads, camshaft and induction systems are revised for
better breathing at a high rpm. A positive crankcase ventilation
system improves oil control during racetrack and acceleration
maneuvers, a Z06 titanium exhaust system, mufflers and tailpipes,
have less mass and more strength than it's aluminum or magnesium
counterparts. Producing 405-horsepower at 6000 rpm and capable
of zero-to-60 in under four seconds.
Sport
bucket seats with leather seating surfaces (picture on the right),
inflatable lumbar support and adjustable side bolsters are standard
in coupe and convertible models. For the 2010 Corvette
Z06 has a lateral acceleration of 1 g. and a top speed over
170 mph. The new Chevy Corvette has all performance systems
including engine, transmission, chassis, tires and suspension.
Standard Active Handling works in conjunction with Traction
Control and ABS on select 03 and 2010 Chevrolet Corvettes, making
maximum use of available traction to assist the driver, when
needed, in keeping the car in line with steering input.
Corvette
designers and engineers developed a unique Head Up Display(on
the right) for the new 2010 Chevrolet Corvette. All
of the following readouts may be projected onto the windshield
for driver convenience: vehicle speed, engine rpm, a performance
upshift guide for the 6 speed manual transmission and readings
from key gauges including water temp, oil pressure and fuel
gauge. Head-Up Display is is standard in Z06 and 50th Anniversary
Edition models but is an option on other coupes and 2010 convertibles.
