Here are
some of the reasons why the new 2008 Ford
Expedition is so popular among SUV enthusists. 1. the new Ford
Expedition Eddie Bauer offers the available 3rd row seat that
disappears into the load floor at the touch of a button, 2. the
available Safety Canopy System which uses advanced sensors to
deploy a side air curtain in certain side impact collisions or
rolloves. The airbag covers approximately 2/3rds of the first
and second row side glass. It stays inflated for a long duration
to provide head and shoulder protection.
There are
2 new models of 2008 Ford Expedition SUV's, and two engines.
The smaller engine is a Triton V8 which provides 232 hp @ 4750
rpm and 291 lb ft. of torque @ 3450 rpm (standard on the Expedition
XLT, and the 2008 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer), or an optional
larger 5.4L Triton V8 which features a cast iron block and aluminum
cylinder heads and will generate 260 hp @ 4500 rpm and 350 lb
ft. of torque @2500 rpm (available on both 2008 Ford Expedition
models). Both come with a 4-speed automatic O/D transmission.
And both come with a larger 28 gallon fuel tank. The new Control
Trac 4WD system is standard on the new Expedition 4x4 models only.
Expedition also features a 4 Wheel disc 4-wheel antilock braking
system.
On the new
Ford Expedition you can add a hitch to the standard Class IV receiver
with dual-integrated 4-pin and 7-pin wiring harnesses, and the
new Expedition is towing ready.
For
safety the 2008 Expedition includes the Ford Personal Safety
System and restraints control module, safety belt pretensioners,
driver's seat position sensor, dual-stage front airbags, front
safety belt usage sensors, energy management retractors, front
crash test severity sensors and second generation driver and right
front passenger airbags.
