The 2013 Mazda Miata has a refined style and sporty look, inside and
out. On the outside, the car comes standard with sharp-looking
16-inch alloy wheels and tires, complete with wheel locks, and
high-performance radial tires provide a stylish appearance. It
takes mere seconds to open or close the MX-5 Miata's soft top,
and you don't even need to unzip the rear window because it's
glass, not the scratch-prone plastic found on some far more expensive
roadsters.
2013 Mazda Miata models come standard with a 1.8-liter, DOHC,
16-valve, 4-cylinder engine that incorporates 2013 Variable
Valve Timing technology. This system continuously adjusts the
timing of the intake valves to maximize power at all engine speeds,
while reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions to boot.
In the standard five-speed and optional six-speed transmissions,
the 2013 Mazda Miata also offers a short-throw shifter. Elsewhere
on the car, the new Tochigi-Fuji torque-sensing limited-slip differential
is lighter with improved stability over the previous Torsen LSD.
And if that’s not enough, the Miata offers a true cornering-oriented
sports-car suspension, giving you better traction and unbeatable
control.
Safety is
a priority for the 2013 Mazda Miata as well. For starters,
2013 Electronic Brakeforce Distribution technology and second
generation air bags help protect you in certain frontal impacts.
Next, pretensioners tighten the three-point safety belts in the
first instant of a severe frontal impact. After a certain amount
of force is reached, the force limiters then gradually reduce
the tension on the belts. Lastly, a microchip in the 2013
MX-5 Miata's ignition key is electronically coded for your car.
If the MX-5 Miata doesn't detect your key — and only your
